| Notes:* | From Comments, in "Star Clusters", by Brent Archinal and Steven Hynes, "Skiff: Not visible in 0.3 degree field." This unimpressive open cluster centered in this image contains a faint field of reflection nebulae that have been cataloged as MCG galaxies ... Megastar v5.0.12 labels four objects as galaxies (MCG +5-13-1/2/3 & 4) in various parts of the nebulous field contained within the cluster. However, the 'Atlas of Galactic Nebulae', by Th. Neckel and H. Vehrenberg, list the several stellar looking objects as GN 05.11.2, a reflection nebula (field), with an accompanying image from the POSS I blue plate. A CDS search for 25 minutes around the field reveals MCG, GN and LEDA names, and categorized them as reflection nebulae |
