Notes: |
This image replaces an unfiltered 90 minute Track & Accumulate
image from 01/7/2006. The IC 417 nebula surrounds, and trails to the East
(left) of open cluster Stock 8, which
is the dense group of stars to the East (left) of the bright 5.1 magnitude
star near the center (Phi Aurigae, 24 Aur, 5.1 mag). The N-S 'fan' from the
bright star is caused by the Hoya filter. According to "Star Clusters", by Brent Archinal and Steven Hynes, the size of open cluster Stock 8 is 15 arc minutes |
