Some positional difference between my sources for this non-descript
cluster ...
The CDS lists Stock 19 at 00h 04m 24.0s, Dec +56d 01m 59s, about 3.5 minutes SSW of my listed position. My charting software (Megastar v5.0.13), and "Star Clusters", by Brent Archinal and Steven Hynes, both agree with the position I have given. "Star Clusters" gives the size as 2.0 arc minutes. Comments from "Star Clusters" are "Skiff: Center star is HD 240492. Aliases : Lund 6; OCL 274; C0001+557." The classification given by both (III - Detached ... No concentration toward center; 1 - Small range in brightness; p - Poor (less than 50 stars)) seems to agree with the image appearance. |
